Astra lines yarns are composed with a polyver core and a high grade polyester cover. This composit yarn has been proven to give excellent performance in resisting abrasion, on both its surface and its core. Its low friction leads to a decreased heat development inside the rope, giving a higher safety factor and a longer lifetime.
The rope is available in 3 strand and 4 strand construction as well as in 8 strand plaited construction.
Astra line has also proved very succesful in offshore applications such as SPM´s.
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
- High resistance against abrasion, friction and fatigue.
- Wet breaking strength is 20% higher than polyamide.
- Equal breaking strength in wet and dry conditions.
- Very high breaking loads.
- Does not absorb water.
- Very low snap-back.
- Ideal for long standing cyclic loadings.
- Reduced heat development.
